Drake is founding music festivals, backing up Lil Wayne, and is preparing yet another national tour, but the rapper shows no signs of slowing down. Instead of riding high on the coattails of his #1 debut Thank Me Later, Drizzy is grinding back to work, prepping an R&B mixtape to show off his more romantic side. “I forgot about you last night for the first time in a long time last night,” coos Drizzy, trying to get over an old love by pursuing new women. “I hate getting messages from you / It’s like you know the perfect shit to say, it fucks with my whole day.” The snippet’s melancholy beat wraps around and around in an elliptical whoosh as Drake softly sings.
A bit more upbeat is Drizzy’s “What If I Kissed You”:

“What if I kissed you right now / would it bring us any closer, take the weight off of our shoulders / Take me, I’m yours, and I don’t really care who knows it,” he smoothly says over a beat straight out of a Biggie track from the mid-90s.
